Qatar business class from Melv to Doha was nice. Great seats, fantastic room and food. I'm not one to whine but the only gripe I really had was the freaking turbulence. It was horrendous. Even with my 3 Valium and 5 chambers I was curled into the fetal position in my business class pj's for the majority of the flight. Apparently the fault of the jet stream. It was to me one of the worse flights had.
Ben was beside himself when they bought the hot/cold towels out! I think that was his highlight..
The business class lounge in Qatar was ok. We had anticipated maybe leaving the airport, but it was 36 deg at 5.30 am when we landed so we reconsidered... 7 hours is way too long of a stopover anywhere!
The next flight is where things got interesting. We were bussed 15 mins to the other side of airport.
The plane was about 100 years old and not very big. The seats were like maybe business class on a domestic flight and extremely uncomfortable. As per the last 7 hours in Doha, I as a woman seemed to be invisible. They would speak to Ben and completely ignore me unless they really had to speak to me! The rest of business class was a sheiks and his wife in a hijab and a couple of young Arabs who proceeded to get and make phone calls and text messages throughout the flight and landing! I was beside myself howeve nothing was said to them! At least it was a smooth flight even if the seat didn't recline. As a business class flight point of view very disappointing and not worth the money that's for sure.
Entry in Berlin was smooth and we were at our lovely hotel before we knew it! I went to open my bag and the zip was broken. Which was great, it was a brand new samsonite which cost $400. Not happy and not yet sure what to do!
We managed a walk and a shower then fellin a heap, couldn't even manage dinner.
We woke feeling refreshed and went off to breakfast. We hadn't eaten for 24 hrs at this point so it was enjoyable. Day 1 in Berlin has been great! Nice lively city! Out on the town tonight!,
